1 Make It Picture Perfect
Forget about your product or service for a minute and focus on the consumer. What will he enjoy when he has dug out his money and taken home your product? Put yourself in his shoes, and then describe the experience in vividly dramatic detail.

What does it feel like to be a stay-at-home mom and still be able to make money? Describe the freedom, the confidence, the things she'll be able to afford. Tell the story in bright words that compel the reader to enter and experience it for themselves.

You've caught them... hook line and sinker once they've experienced those feelings. Chances are they've dreamed about them, and now the know they can fulfill the dream through your product or service.

2. Throw In The Logic They'll Need to Justify Themselves Later.
You've probably met up with the "after the sale jitters." You make the purchase, enjoy it for a day or two and then it hits home... you've got a payment to make and start wondering if you've made the right choice.

Sure, your customers will second guess themselves after they make the purchase too... that's why you need to supply the logic for the sale upfront - even though you know they buy for emotional satisfaction.

Let them know that it's a special, reduced price... if they buy it now. That'll make them feel better about not waiting.

Tell them about other customers who are "glad they did" to make them feel like they aren't alone. Others thought it was the thing to do too so it must have been.

Hey, the customer who enjoys the product, and can feel good about the purchase is one satisfied customer who'll do business with you again. Take care to set your advertising campaign up for success.

It really is as simple as picking up your pen and writing heartfelt, genuine comments to another human being. Here are some ways to help you get in the habit of giving people positive feedback in writing.

Every leader, supervisor, coach, team member and parent has been told of the value of giving positive feedback. We've heard reasons why. We've heard we don't do it enough. We've learned all of the basics about giving positive feedback successfully: make it timely, make it specific, and when giving positive feedback consider sharing it publicly.

All of this is good advice, but it falls short of the mark if we want to make a long term lasting difference in the self-image, confidence, and performance of others. In short, if you want to give positive feedback, consider doing more than telling people how you feel, consider writing it down.

Why Write it Down

Here are three reasons why written feedback is so valuable.

1. It is unusual. While most of us give (and receive) far too little positive feedback to start with, receiving it in writing is even more rare. The time taken to form our thoughts and write them down demonstrates to the receiver how valuable and important the feedback is.

2. It can be preserved. Verbal feedback can be preserved, but only in the mind of the receiver. I know that I have had people tell me very nice things that I remember, and in some cases I can even take you to the exact location that they told me. But our memories can fail, and those events can just be lost among the millions of moments in our lives. Not so with something in writing. Not only can the thoughts and comments be preserved, but you can bet that in many cases they will be saved… for a very long time.


3. It will be re-read and therefore reinforced. Verbal praise is shared and can be savored by the receiver, but I don't think many people will stop the person giving the feedback and say, "Will you tell me that again please?" Quite the opposite for the hand written note. It will be read at least twice initially, and if the feedback is especially meaningful, perhaps several more times in the coming days - and often far beyond.


Some Ways to Do It

It really is as simple as picking up your pen and writing heartfelt, genuine comments to another human being. Here are some ways to help you get in the habit of giving people positive feedback in writing.

1. Send a letter. Writing someone a quick letter doesn't take very long. It doesn't need to be formal, it just needs to genuinely tell the other person how you feel. Don't put it off, just write it.

2. I like you because. I learned this from Zig Ziglar. He used to (and perhaps still does) produce small pads that used this sentence stem to make it easier to give someone positive feedback. The was printed with "I Like You Because" then it had several lines for you to fill in your note. I have used this idea for many years in a variety of settings with great success. Create your own pad like this on your computer, or start with a blank piece of paper or index card. Using this sentence starter may help you get started (and help you look for and find) the behaviors you want to praise.

3. Thank you notes. An extension of written feedback is the hand written thank you note. Most of us could write more thank you notes than we do, and they serve as an acknowledgement of what someone did for us, but they also serve as positive feedback. Commit to writing more thank you notes, or to adding a bit more feedback to those notes you do write.

4. Send them an email. This can be a letter in email, or a quick reply to a project update, letting someone know you thought their approach was good, or you appreciate how they are handling something. While the handwritten note is hard to beat, emails will be saved and re-read too. Don't underestimate the value of a quick three or four line email.

I could tell you stories of how meaningful written feedback has been, both to me and those I know. I could tell you stories of notes kept for years and re-read often. I could tell of people who said that some hand written encouragement buoyed their confidence and helped them through tough times and contributed mightily to their success.

You probably know of some of these stories too – which means you know my premise is right – that written praise can be extremely powerful. Since we know that it is valuable, and we know that it will be more than just appreciated, then it is our responsibility as leaders, teachers, parents, and siblings … as people … to give feedback to others in this way.

I'll bet as you read these words you thought of at least one person you could share positive reinforcement with in writing. Since you know who it is, and what to say, and now you've been reminded of the impact that act could have, you have no other choice.

Write that note now.

You'll be glad you did, and so will the recipient. And who knows, you may change another person's life forever.

Munculnya sariawan ini disertai rasa sakit yang tinggi. Sariawan merupakan penyakit kelainan mulut yang paling sering ditemukan

Gejalanya berupa rasa panas atau terbakar yang terjadi satu atau dua hari, yang kemudian bisa menimbulkan luka (ulser) di rongga mulut. Bercak luka yang ditimbulkan akibat dari sariawan ini agak kaku dan sangat peka terhadap gerakan lidah atau mulut sehingga rasa sakit atau rasa panas yang dirasakan ini dapat membuat kita susah makan, susah minum, ataupun susah berbicara. Penderita penyakit ini biasanya juga banyak mengeluarkan air liur. Biasanya sariawan ini akan sembuh dengan sendirinya adalam waktu 4 sampai 20 hari. Bila penyakit ini belum sembuh sampai waktu 20 hari maka penderita harus diperiksa lebih lanjut untuk menentukan apakah ada sel kankernya atau tidak.

Ada beberapa faktor penyebab yang diduga menjadi penyebab munculnya sariawan. Misalnya, luka tergigit, mengkonsumsi makanan atau minuman panas, alergi, kekurangan vitamin C dan zat besi, kelainan pencernaan, kebersihan mulut tidak terjaga, faktor psikologi, dan kondisi tubuh yang tidak fit.

Ada beberapa faktor-faktor penyebab yang dapat mengakibatkan stomatitis aphtosa, diantaranya:

* Keadaan gigi, higiene gigi yang buruk sering dapat menjadi penyebab timbulnya sariawan yang berulang.
* Luka tergigit, bisa terjadi karena bekas dari tergigit itu bisa menimbulkan ulser sehingga dapat mengakibatkan stomatitis aphtosa.
* Mengkonsumsi air dingin atau air panas.
* Alergi, bisa terjadi karena kenaikan kadar IgE dan keterkaitan antara beberapa jenis makanan dan timbulnya ulser.
* Faktor herediter bisa terjadi, misalnya kesamaan yang tinggi pada anak kembar, dan pada anak-anak yang kedua orangtuanya menderita stomatitis aphtosa.
* Faktor psikologis (stress), diduga berhubungan dengan produksi kortison di dalam tubuh.
* Gangguan hormonal (seperti sebelum atau sesudah menstruasi). Terbentuknya stomatitis aphtosa ini pada fase luteal dari siklus haid pada beberapa penderita wanita.
* Pada penderita yang sering merokok juga bisa menjadi penyebab dari sariawan.
* Jamur, namun biasanya hal ini dihubungkan dengan penurunan sistem pertahanan tubuh (imuno). Berasal dari kadar imunoglobin abnormal.
* Pada penggunaan obat kumur yang mengandung bahan-bahan pengering (misal,alkohol, lemon/ gliserin) harus dihindari.
* Sariawan yang dikarenakan kekurangan vitamin C sangat mungkin terjadi, karena bagi si pasien yang kekurangan vitamin C dapat mengakibatkan jaringan dimukosa mulut dan jaringan penghubung antara gusi dan gigi mudah robek yang akhirnya mengakibatkan sariawan.
* Kekurangan vitamin B dan zat besi juga dapat menimbulkan sariawan. Namun kondisi seperti itu dapat diatasi dengan sering memakan buah ataupun makan sayur-sayuran.

Secara umum untuk menghindari sariawan yang berulang dapat dilakukan dengan menghindari stress, menghindari minum alkohol dan merokok, menjaga kebersihan mulut, menhindari makanan dan minuman panas, berhati-hatisaat menyikat gigi, serta mengobati sakit maag yang diderita serta memperbanyak konsumsi sayuran dan buah – buahan.

Tentunya untuk menyembuhkan sariawan secara tuntas diperlukan suatu pendekatan menyeluruh terhadap kemungkinan penyebabnya. Adapun obat herbal yang digunakan untuk mencegah sariawan antara lain, madu, habbatussauda dan meniran serta temulawak.

Dalam mengatasi sariawan, dapat menggunakan beberapa jenis obat, baik dalam bentuk salep (yang mengandung antibiotika dan penghilang rasa sakit), obat tetes, maupun obat kumur. Unlike current PCs, quantum computers will have switches that can be in an on or off state simultaneously. The mechanism that will make this possible is known as superposition, and the switches are referred to as quantum bits. The system will make quantum computers operate very fast. A basic quantum computer is likely to be operational by 2020.

2. Programmable Matter
Scientists are in the midst of creating a substance that can take a specific shape to perform a specific task. The substance is known as claytronics, and it consists of catoms. Individual catoms are programmed to move in three dimensions and position themselves so that they assume different shapes. This technology is likely to have numerous applications ranging from medical use to 3D physical rendering. It may take around two decades to become a reality.

3. Terascale Computing
Techies are working on a project that would make our PCs able to contain tens to hundreds of parallel working cores. The device will have the capability to process huge amounts of information. To create this technology, Intel is exploring the possibility of using nanotechnology and allowing for billions of transistors.

4. Repliee Robots
Repliee is one of the most advanced life-like robots ever created. Repliee, an android, is covered with a substance which is very similar to human skin. Sensors placed inside the robot control its movements and enable it to respond to its environment. Astonishingly, the robot can flutter its eyelids and replicate breathing. Repliee operates best in a static condition.

5. Organic Computers
To further advance the computing realm, techies need to create a hybrid CPU that is silicon based but contains organic parts as well. The most promising progress in information processing concerns a neurochip that places organic neurons onto a network of silicon or other materials. Future computers will be able to bridge the silicon and organic spheres to utilize processors that incorporate both of these elements.

6. "Spray-On" Nanocomputers
The "spray-on" nanocomputer would consist of particles that can be sprayed onto a patient. It would monitor the patient's medical condition and communicate wirelessly to other machines.

7. Carrier Ethernet
Carrier Ethernet is a business service/access technology. It can serve as a transport method for both business and residential service. Ethernet will dominate the metro space in the future and will slowly displace SONET/SDH over the next 10 to 20 years.

Development sustains life. However, techies cannot afford to forget that technological advancement will remain inadequate in the absence of contributions from all branches of knowledge and will not flourish if it does not benefit society.

Photography - Abstract Photography

The invention of the camera liberated painting from its reportage role. Gone was the need to produce a likeness, detail the events of the story, painting was free to express emotions. True what had gone before contained an emotional content but now painting could experiment and through imaginative interpretation allow the emotional content to predominate. Freed from this constraint the painter was able to create a new language and explore the motivations of their art.

As the 19th century evolved and throughout the 20th century painters from the impressionists through the cubists and expressionists to the minimalists could to use colour, line and form to go straight to the emotional content of their work. The representational aspect of the work become coincidental and was pushed to the point that it became akin to lying on the grass making shapes out of clouds. Enjoyable as it may be it is secondary to the nature of clouds.

The introduction of the digital darkroom has given this freedom to photographers. The range of tools to fix and enhance the camera's capture when pushed to its extremes produces a range of fascinating effects. When added to the filters built into the better software, images can be produced that any comparison to the original photograph is purely coincidental. As photographers explore these tools and incorporate them into their photographs so their visual language will grow. The revolution of the medium with the development from black and white into colour is taking its next step. Now with the digital darkroom's ever growing range of tools the only limitation is the photographer's imagination.

With the use of these tools, the skilled photographic artist can take the pop song and create, in visual terms, the lyric beauty of a baroque symphony or the down town jive of a jazz variation without a tree or a high rise in sight. Just the light captured by the camera and fine tuned into something completely different, something new that comes from the photographer.

The photographer has been liberated like the painter before them by technology. Now photographs can explore the full range of human experience including those they have no words to express. Large statements will be accessible by the photographer not only in physical terms. Although like their painter counterparts, through an additional feature of the technology, the large canvas is becoming the order of the day. That this canvas can express feelings rather than just illustrate them denotes that the photography has become an adult in the arts.

Decide on something that you would like to master. Make it something short like a lick, scale or perhaps a few bars of a song.

***Step Two***

Decide on a speed goal for the thing that you have chosen. This will be your target tempo. Make it challenging. Something that will make you a significantly better player once you have achieved it. Of course, you need to keep in mind your current playing level. If you are a beginner and you set a speed goal of sixteenth notes at 240bpm, you are definitely setting yourself up for a failure!

***Step Three***

Decide on how much time you'll invest practicing the thing that you have chosen. It would recommended setting a goal of 10-15 minutes a day. A small amount done daily will give you better results than hours done irregularly.

***Step Four***

Make a commitment to practice what you have chosen on a daily basis. The key is to practice it every single day until your speed goal has been reached. No excuses,no crying, no moaning, no exceptions.

***Step Five***

Get to work! This is the step that requires discipline. It could take weeks or months to achieve your speed goal! Just keep in mind that anyone can write down a goal, but unfortunately VERY few people will follow it though to completion. That's probably why there are so many more guitar OWNERS than guitar PLAYERS ;-)
